Butterfield-Whittemore House : ウィキペディア英語版 | Butterfield-Whittemore House
The Butterfield-Whittemore House, built in 1695, is a historic colonial house at 54 Massachusetts Avenue in Arlington, Massachusetts. The earliest part of the house was built about 1695 by Johnathan Butterfield, a field driver in Menotomy, as Arlington was then called. It was sold in 1749 to Samuel Whittemore III, son of the local Revolutionary War hero. Greek Revival modifications were made about 1845, and a new porch added circa 1920. Restorations began in 2006 and have since completed.〔(Wicked Local: Resurrecting the past by post and beam ), by Les Masterson, Wed Apr 11, 2007.〕 The house's position is distinctive in that it faces Massachusetts Avenue at an angle, reflecting the path of the road as it was in the late seventeenth century. ==See also==
